Your first month’s rent plus a refundable deposit of no more than one month’s rent. No paying several months or a year in advance. For the Clapham room that’s £1,190 + £1,050 = £2,240. Your deposit is held in a government-approved protection scheme and returned when you move out. You pay only once you’ve seen the room and decided to take it.
